Catching Up With Old Friends Through The Years

It has been 5 years since we began taking this group of elderly out on yearly grocery shopping trips as part of our CSR activities. We are grateful for this opportunity to partner with the Bethesda Care & Counselling Services Centre to connect with these elderly, many of whom live alone and are physically challenged.

Our company sets aside a budget for this activity and basically gives us time-off to take 17 of these elderly to do grocery shopping at the Kallang Wave Mall. We keep them company, find out what’s going on in their lives, while we help them stock up on essentials and toiletries. They ended the trip having tea while we entertained them with songs as well as playing Bingo!

Time does not diminish the fulfilment we derive from catching up with these elderly – in fact, many of them have been part of this activity since Day One. We always look forward to meeting up with them every year and hope that that they will continue to be a part of our lives.
